Guide
Release-day hands-on coverage reports seven Underkeep classes: Warrior, Thief, Paladin, Ranger, Voidcaller, Wizard and Blood Mage. Their value depends on the rest of your team, your position and your preferred skills; the descriptions below are a starting overview, not a ranking or a complete skill database.
| Class | Starting consideration |
|---|---|
| Warrior | A durable front-row choice in the published party example. |
| Thief | A physical damage option suggested for the second front slot. |
| Paladin | An alternative front-row choice with team buffs discussed in the hands-on guide. |
| Ranger | A back-row alternative in the reported party, with ranged pressure. |
| Voidcaller | A healing option in the reported party. |
| Wizard | A magic damage option placed in the back row in the reported party. |
| Blood Mage | A second-front-slot alternative in one reported lineup. |
How to choose
First decide which two characters you want in front, then make sure the back row contributes damage or support. The developer has described alternative front-line approaches, including an evasion-focused Thief, in an earlier demo discussion. Those remarks refer to a pre-release version, so check current skills and descriptions in your own game.
Do not choose solely by a tier list: the release article's suggested party is one player's recommendation. See party building for a concrete example and the beginner guide for exploration and combat basics.
Compare skills within the whole party
In a race and class mechanics video, Slandered Gaming describes Blood Mage spells as using bones or, when bones are unavailable, health. He recommends considering who in the party already applies a mark before choosing another mark-related skill. This is one player's build advice, not a universal ranking. Review the current skill descriptions and costs in game before spending points.
